Many years go artificial flowers used to be of inferior quality and it was easy to distinguish artificial flowers from fresh flowers. However, things have changed and this is no longer the case. There have been major improvements with todays materials and designs, making it difficult to distinguish the artificial flowers from the fresh flowers. I have often been genuinely fooled, having found out the flowers were fake after touching a leaf or sniffing a bloom in a silk floral arrangement.
There are some definite advantages to using artificial blooms in silk floral arrangements as opposed to using fresh flowers, let me share some of these with you.
In addition to being beautiful, artificial silk flowers have a long shelf life, always look good, never change color and never droop in the vase, whereas fresh flowers are sensitive to heat and require a constant temperature to stay fresh and prevent wilting.
The risk when transporting silk floral arrangements is minimal, whereas fresh flowers are fragile and therefore require careful handling when transporting.
