Purchasing Silk Flowers and Making Silk Centerpieces

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Silk centerpieces are some of the most amazing creations that you will ever see.  While most of the time a table is adorned with some type of centerpiece, the silk makes it look that much better.  You would simply be shocked to learn how little time and money it takes to make one of these centerpieces!

Here are a few tips on purchasing the flowers and finding designs for that perfect centerpiece.

The first place you are going to want to look for silk flowers is at your local craft stores.  Major craft chains such as Michael’s or Jo Ann Fabrics have dozens of types, colors and styles of flowers.  These flowers are easy to find, look at, and purchase.  They will not cost you an arm and a leg and will last for a very long time.

Most of the time, you are going to want to find the design for your centerpiece first.  Some craft stores offer templates for centerpieces, but you should look online first.  Many of the designs you can find online look better.  Not only do you need to know what flowers you are going to need, but you will also need to purchase the additional items necessary.

Sometimes the silk centerpieces will require such things as pine cones, a Christmas wreath, or ribbon.  You can usually find all of these supplies when you are at the store purchasing your silk flowers.  Always purchase a little bit more than you need in case you run into some problems!
